Jem slowly pulled his hands from his pockets, allowing them to hang at his side as he greeted his brother. "Hey, Drake, how've you been?" He asked, shifting somewhat idly where he stood, the male tilted his head cutely at his twin, hoping that his brother was doing alright, at the very least.

"I've neem decent.." he assured, runing the back of his neck. It was obvious that he wasn't exactly sure what to say. "Got a career change.. what about you?" He tilted his head as well, the opposite direction of Jem however. Drake cleared his throat, wondering why Jemessis was in a suit.. hm.

(Lame, lurkers so off and on.)

"About the same," Jem responded, giving his shoulder a brief roll of a shrug as he did so. "I figured it was time I stop fooling around trying to become famous and rish and all that jazz," he began to say, though paused an instant, giving a weak, almost sad smile, "Besides, the doc says I can't drink anymore... My liver is... Ruined, really..." He trailed off, green eyes closing for a few moments. He pulled out a cigarette, observing it for a moment before popping it between his lips, "And my lungs are riddled with cancer..."

(I think I just randomly decided Jem is dying. o_O)

"Oh yeah? I never thought I'd see the day when you-" That smile.. he knew something bad was coming.. but what? Drake froze, fingers holding his cigarette centimeters from his lips. He dropped the death stick, hands shaking slightly. "W.. What?" he whispered, leaning against the mailboxes for support as his knees suddenly felt weak. He was shocked, worried, and terrified all at once.

(D: NOOO!!! T______T)

"I'm dying, Drake," Jemessis softly whispered, watching his brother lean on the mailboxes, he moved closer, ready to catch the other man, were he to fall entirely. "Doctors give me three months, at best... I've been real sick, Drake..." He whispered, wincing a little as he spoke, he hastily lit up a cigarette.

(Dun worry, I doubt he'll really die.)

Drake whimpered, striking the mailbox with his fist. He left a dent in the metal, which in turn hurt the hell out of his hand. "Gah!" he hissed, eyes watering for multiple reasons. "Jem, why didn't you tell me sooner?!" He pushed himself from the boxes, wrapping his arms around his twin and holding himclose instead of punching him like he really wanted to. "You can't leave me.. Not because of that shit that kills humans.. Not to a.. a sickness.." He gritted his teeth. They were immortal.. why was this happening to Jem?

"Only found out the other day," Jem murmured, grasping his brother tightly as he moved in for a hug. His hands gently rubbed at his twin's back, and he even tilted his head in a little to rest on Drake, "My liver is failing and my lungs are going to follow suit soon enough... The only thing that I've been alive this long is because I'm not a human..." He pointed out, petting his brother tenderly, "Besides... This is my own fault..."

Drake shook his head, burying it in his brother's shoulder. "Why, Jem!? How could it get this bad?!" he whimpered, tears wetting the other man's suit jacket. He gripped the front of his fancy clothing, wanting to shake him, but he refrained from doing so. He tried to calm himself, enjoying the soft, loving touch of Jemessis. "You can't leave me.. remember..? You said you never would.." Tears continued to fall from his saddened eyes.

"All of years of heavy drinking and chain smoking, Drake, that's how," Jem murmured, patting his brother's hair affectionately, "And I know what I said, and believe me, I don't want to be made a lair, but... It looks like that's one promise I wont be able to keep," he sadly admitted, gazing down at his brother, he seemed further saddened to see the man so broken up, "I'm sorry..."

(Bed now, night love.)

Drake bit his bottom lip, thinking to himself 'then why aren't I dying with you?'. He took a moment to angrily smash the cigarette he'd been working on. "Jemessis, I should've kicked your ass when you started smoking.. grr.." He was trying to be funny, lighten the mood as he tried to calm himself too. "I feel like it's my fault too.. but... uugh." He pulled back, wiping at his eyes and taking a few more deep breaths. "Are you hungry? T-thirsty?" He paused, running a hand through his hair. "L... Let's go inside, ok?" He reached for his brother's hand, holding it affectionately with his own shaking one.

"I have no one to blame but myself," Jem said simply, giving a light shrug of his shoulders as he sadly watched his twin. As the younger male took his hand, he gave it a light squeeze of reassurance, "Alright, Drake, we can go inside," he whispered, slowly raking his free hand through his hair as he did so.

"Jem.. I want you to know that whatever you want to do, we can do.." he murmured, feeling god awful. "I want you to be happy.." He nodded, leading his twin towards his appartment with a soft exhale. Drake was signing everything over to Jem, apparently, so his older brother would get what he wanted before he.. uugh.

Jem arched a brow at his brother, "I didn't come here because I wanted anything," he pointed out, seeming a tad offended at the suggestion, "I just wanted to tell you in person... Besides, doing what we used to wont make you feel any better... Or me, for that matter... Takes a lot of energy, and that's something I don't have right now, bud," he pointed out, exhaling softly as he did so.

".. I wasn't suggesting that.." he pointed out, seeming offended that his brother was offended. "I meant going places.. doing stuff you've never gotten around to doing." He paused, a slight frown on his face. Drake couldn't deny that he missed what they used to do, but he wouldn't flat out admit it. "How's Quentin, anyways?"

(Next year, lol, but we order them this this time of junior year and get them around Christmas. (: )

"Oh...." Jemessis murmured, blushing a little as he cleared his throat, he raked his fingers nervously through his hair, "Well... There's not really anything I wanna do..." He muttered, swallowing at a hard lump in his throat, "And Quentin is... Well... I've asked Salem to get his brother to look out for him... And I asked Salem to look out for you..." He pointed out, exhaling slightly.

Drake exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck for a moment as he thought. "Well, alright then." he stated, looking to the floor for a moment. He knew the.. boy would be torn up.. Quentin had seemed like the kind that would be devastated when they lost something cherished. He blinked, smiling faintly. "Just like you, always making sure I'd be alright in the end.." He pulled his door open, motioning for Jem to go in. "I love you Jem.. so much.."

(Omg, Jem could 'die' and wind up wherever their mom is. (: And then they could talk and stuff, and he could get sent back good as new.. Idk. xD; )

"Of course I have to make sure you're okay," Jem said, ruffling the other man's hair affectionately as he did so, "I love you too, bro," he reassured, giving the other male a half smirk. Once more, he slid his hands into his pockets, carefully kicking off his boots as he entered his brother's home, eyes dancing absently, as though it may very well have been the last time he saw the place, "I'm gunna stay in hell, I think." He then absently remarked.

(I was thinking of him dying and seeing his mom, actually. Afore I decided he wouldn't die, that is. xD)

The man smiled, leaning his head into his brother's touch. "Mm, yeah? I should move in too, so I can keep an eye on you, Mr. Troublemaker." Drake snickered, still struggling with his emotions. He wanted to deny the fact that it was possible for Jem to die, but he couldn't. "So.. is dad ok? I haven't seen him in a while.. I'm sure he's... well.. yeah."

(Oh yeah? xD; Haha, it'd be neat. I imagine him entering a house and her cooking on the stove just like old times in an apron and stuff. xD And everything's like... black and white. O: )

"Well. I kind of... Haven't told him yet..." Jemessis slowly admitted, giving a sheepish smile as he did so, "He's next on my list of people to tell... I should probably go see him soon. I know he's gonna react terribly and I've been dreading it for days..." He pointed out, giving a heavy sigh. Poor man sounds burdened.

(Haha, yeah, that'd be neat. xD)

Drake frowned softly, shutting the door and locking it behind them. "Well.. would you like me to be there when you tell him? Or help you tell him?" he asked. The man stepped into the kitchen and grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge. He ran a hand through his hair, offering his twin one of the bottles.

Jem slowly took the bottle of water, his feet idly kicking at the floor the slightest bit where he stood. "Well... yeah, kinda." He murmured, giving a small smile, clearly hoping that his brother would be willing to do something like that for him.

"Alright then." he said simply, taking a swig of his water. "You know I'd do anything for you Jem.. hell, if it's possible you can have half my liver and one of my lungs.." Drake exhaled, hanging his head in a moment of sadness before raising it and smiling faintly. "I wonder if there's someone that could make that work.."

"I wouldn't take that from you, Drake," Jem informed the other man, raising a hand to pinch his cheek lightly as he did so, "But I know you'd give it, and it's cute of you to offer," he pointed out, slowly opening his bottle of water and taking a drink from it.

(Drake: *knocks him out and has it done anyways* >>)

Drake pouted, sticking his tongue out as his cheek was pinched. "I want you to though.." he murmured. "It's a weird thought.. but I wouldn't mind as long as I didn't lose you." He exhaled softly, reaching out to gingerly brush some of Jem's hair from his face.

"Mm, well, too bad, not happening, bro," Jemessis pointed out, stretching a little as he did so, he looked around the room for a place to sit down, and slowly seated himself. For the first time since he had arrived, he began to look weary and worn with age. So sad.

Drake frowned deeply, watching Jem with an almost hurt look on him. "That's fucked up.." he pointed out, taking another drink from his water bottle. He noticed the way his twin began to look older and it saddened him.. He wanted to help him so badly but how?

"No, it's not. I don't want to take those from you. You'll prolly need them some day, and if you died because you needed your second lung or the other half of your liver I would never forgive myself." Jemessis pointed out, resting his hands in his lap as he watched his brother get a little sad, "Hey, cheer up, you're not the one dying," he pointed out, giving a smile and a soft chuckle. Dark sense of humor, much?"

Drake shook his head. "I'd die knowing I saved your ass, Jem, and I honestly don't think I'll die anytime soon." He ran a hand through his hair, frowning at Jem's sense of humor. It wasn't funny to him. "God damn it, Jemessis, don't be so dense.. I want to help you.." He sighed, leaning against the counter and thinking. What could they do?

"Neither did I," Jem pointed out to Drake, brow arched high on his forehead. He snorted some as his brother continued to speak, "Just come to hell with me and help me tell dad and gramps... Spend some time with all of us... As a family. That's all I want from you..."

Drake grumbled to himself for a few moments before sighing and putting his water back in the fridge. "Fine.." he mumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets. He looked around his appartment, figuring everything would be fine for God knows how long he'd be staying in hell. "When are we going?"
